NEICAAA Annual Convention Set for September 9 at Assumption University

The New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) will host its Annual Fall Convention on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at the Carriage House on the campus of Assumption University in Worcester, MA. The meeting will bring together coaches, administrators, and committee members from across the region to vote on key constitutional updates, elect executive officers, and finalize championship details for the 2025–26 academic year.


Convention Agenda Highlights

The convention will open with roll call, a recap of 2024–25, and a finance update, followed by constitutional and voting matters. Delegates will consider several important motions, including:

  • Approval of Executive Officers and Executive Board Slate, including Commissioner Taryn Sheehan, Assistant Commissioner Steve Vaitones, President Richard Hart, Treasurer/First Vice President Ruben Sança, and other board members.

  • Constitutional Updates, including the creation of a Constitution Revision Committee.

  • Dues Increase Proposal, raising membership dues to $600 (motion by Coach Martin, Quinnipiac).

  • Membership Expansion, with a motion to add the University of Bridgeport to the Association.

  • Championship Scheduling Decisions, including a vote on Indoor Track & Field at the Reggie Lewis Center (March 6–7) and a critical vote on the Outdoor Track & Field Championships location and date, as Bryant can no longer host.


Additional agenda items will address officials’ certification, membership initiatives, and the future of the Fall Convention, including possible alignment with USTFCCCA.


2025–26 NEICAAA Championships

  • Cross Country Championships: October 10, Hopkinton Fairground (Hopkinton, NH)

    • Women – 2:00 p.m.

    • Men – 2:45 p.m.

    • Entry fee: $20 per student-athlete

  • Indoor Track & Field Championships: March 6–7, Reggie Lewis Center (pending vote)

  • Outdoor Track & Field Championships: Multiple date and host options under consideration; final vote will be held at the convention.

Location & Logistics

The convention will take place at Assumption University’s Admissions Carriage House, 500 Salisbury St, Worcester, MA. Guests should park in Lots O or N; parking tickets received that day can be disregarded. A campus map is available here.

Please note: Constitutional votes require a two-thirds majority of those present and voting (Article XVI, Section 1).

Convention Registration & Delegate Information

Coaches and institutional representatives are strongly encouraged to register in advance and submit the delegate form to ensure full participation in the voting process.
