NEICAAA Seeks Spring 2026 Sports Marketing & Branding Intern to Elevate Historic Collegiate Track & Field Brand
Boston, MA - The New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA), one of the oldest collegiate athletics associations in the country, is seeking a
for the Spring 2026 semester to help strengthen its digital presence, storytelling, and partnerships across the region.
Founded in 1885, NEICAAA brings together colleges and universities from across New England to support and showcase collegiate track & field and cross country. The association oversees championship events, celebrates student-athlete achievement, and works closely with coaches, athletic departments, and officials to advance the sport and its visibility.
The Sports Marketing & Branding Internship is designed for a student or recent graduate interested in gaining hands-on experience in sports marketing, communications, and nonprofit brand development. The role will support NEICAAA’s efforts to refresh its brand, expand its reach, and deepen engagement with member institutions, student-athletes, alumni, and sponsors.
The position is remote, with optional in-person opportunities across New England, and will run from January 20 – May 15, 2026. It is a part-time, unpaid role, with eligibility for academic credit or independent study, and an expected commitment of 8–12 hours per week, with flexibility around academic schedules.
NEICAAA is seeking a junior or senior undergraduate, graduate student, or recent graduate with a background or strong interest in sports management, marketing, communications, or a related field.
Ideal candidates will bring:
Strong writing, design, and organizational skills
Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing tools (such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and Mailchimp)
An interest in collegiate athletics, nonprofit organizations, and brand development
A self-starter mindset, creativity, and a collaborative approach
Familiarity with track & field is a plus, but not required
The intern will gain experience in areas such as:
Supporting NEICAAA’s overall marketing and communications strategy
Drafting content for email newsletters, social media, and the association’s website
Helping manage NEICAAA’s social media presence and audience engagement
Conducting market research on collegiate sports trends, sponsorship models, and peer organizations
Assisting with event-related communications and logistics for NEICAAA’s winter and spring championships, including meet coordination, registration, and outreach
Developing storytelling content that highlights NEICAAA’s history, member institutions, and student-athlete achievements
Contributing to sponsorship decks, partnership materials, and strategic planning discussions
