Update on Indoor, Outdoor Championships and Membership Dues

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Association's Board of Directors have decided to cancel the 2021 NEICAAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, originally scheduled to take place at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center. The lack of athletic facilities and meets available for individuals to qualify both played a role in the board's decision. This is the first time in more than fifty years that the indoor championships will not take place.

At this time, no decision has been made on the Outdoor Championship meet, but the possibility of the meet taking place looks problematic. The Board will revisit this decision sometime in January as more guidance and updates for event management during the pandemic become available.

Looking ahead, the Association also plans to review the membership dues structure and have a resolution in January. A possible scenario currently being proposed includes replacing the current annual billing with a membership obligation invoice and a subsequent invoice for the number of championships entered by member institution during the year.

More to follow in January.
