      NEICAAA Annual Convention

      Prior to the start of the meeting, a moment of silence was held in honor of Bill Falk who recently passed away.

      The convention was called to order at 10:00 A.M.. Schools represented were:  Amherst,  Babson, Bates, Boston College, Brandeis, Bridgewater State, Bryant,  Connecticut College, Connecticut University, Dartmouth,  Fitchburg State, Franklin Pierce, Hartford, Holy Cross, Husson, UMass/Amherst, UMass/Dartmouth, UMass/Lowell, Merrimack,  MIT, Middlebury,  New Hampshire University, New Haven, Nichols,  Northeastern, Quinnipiac, Rhode Island College, Rhode Island University, Sacred Heart, Saint Anselm,  Smith,  Southern  Maine, Springfield,  Stonehill, Trinity, Tufts, U.S.Coast Guard Academy, Vermont,  Wellesley, Wesleyan, Westfield State, Wheaton, Williams, Worcester State, and WPI .  Guests present were  Steve Vaitones and Mark Strawderman

      The previously circulated minutes of the fall and spring conventions were adopted. 

      The following slate of officers was approved for the upcoming year:
      President, Stephen Fitzgerald;
      Vice President, David Fraizer;
      Executive Committee, John Copeland and Kristin Morwick.

      The 2017-2018 financial report was published.

      The 2019 indoor and outdoor standards have been published on the website

      Dean College, Newbury College, and Nichols College were approved for membership.

      In separate votes 400 and 500m conversions as well as 800 and 1000M  were approved for qualification purposes, 15-7;
      3000 and 5000m conversions were approved 18-9.

      Allowing schools to enter all relays, indoors and outdoors without a qualifying time failed to be seconded.

      Motion to move championship to IC4A weekend was defeated 15-23.

      Motion to move Championship back to last weekend in February was defeated 18-22

      Motion to allow schools to enter 4 x 800m and distance medley relays without qualifying time was approved with one negative vote.

      Change in indoor schedule was approved almost unanimously-one negative vote; major changes, men and women high jump on Saturday, quarter finals in dash and hurdles on Friday.  See website for full schedule

      Championship site for the 2020 outdoor will be either MIT or Northeastern
      The meeting was adjourned at 11:35.
